Ethics plays the most widely known role in the medical profession, from the Hippocratic Oath to the modern debate over managed health care. Whether in the preservation of life or a less dramatic (and usually more controversial) incarnation, ethical concern and debate is as prevalent in medicine as in any other discipline.


President's Council on Bioethics Report

The President's Council on Bioethics has issued its July, 2002 report, entitled Human Cloning and Human Dignity: an Ethical Inquiry. The council was created by President Bush in November of 2001. Its purpose is to advise the President on bioethical issues related to advances in biomedical science and technology.
